North Las Vegas Firefighters Arrive at Burning House after Civilian Rescue

North Las Vegas firefighters responded to a reported house fire on the 600 block of Glendale Avenue at around 9 a.m. Saturday, May 16. When they arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters learned two civilians had rescued two people from the home, including a man with a double amputation on both legs, who had suffered burns in the fire. Because of the swift action of Jose Alvarado and Vincent Torres, he is expected to survive. The other person who was rescued from the fire suffered from smoke inhalation.
